136Hold a bachelor's degree (from an accredited 4-year college) in computer science or a closely related field that includes: All “core” areas from the ACM/IEEE Computer Science (CS) model curriculum. (See http://www.acm.org/education/curricula for details.) This includes: Imperative and/or functional programming Object-oriented programming Basic algorithms and/or complexity Computer organization and architecture Concurrent and/or parallel programming Software development methods and tools One semester (15 credit-hours) of technical coursework beyond the core requirements (courses in computer science, software engineering, or closely related fields) Successful completion of course work in the following areas: Differential and integral calculus Probability and statistics Discrete mathematics or linear algebra
